Big changes

In the last few months the Lord has been working in our hearts and lives.  Let me share a few details that prayerfully bring to light how the Lord has moved in the recent months.

First, our family has been permanent with the four boys and four girls since June of 2017.  Through the blessing of adoption we have been able to love on the children in our home as Mom and Dad without concern that could change.  All ten of the Rosenbaum’s will be traveling to Kenya, most likely in early 2020.  Our older children are beyond excited while the younger children are a bit more reserved, but looking forward to the coming changes.

Second, this has been a possibility for our family for years.  This recent season has so clearly been the Lord’s timing.  Back in January of this year the Lord began laying on our hearts to put the house on the market. Repeatedly, we heard the Lord calling on our lives to be ready.  So in an act of obedience in April we put the house on the market with no plan for what was next.  We had an amazing few weeks, with neighbors asking questions allowing us to witness about  taking this step forward in faith.  Just a few weeks later the missionaries at His Cherished Ones (HCO) contacted us as the Lord was leading them to seek a family like ours to partner with the next steps at HCO.  Some day they may admit we may have shocked them with the first response being, “Well the house is up for sale, so we are getting ready.”  After a few weeks of emails or messages back and forth with HCO we set up a video conference.  The video conference lasted about 2 1/2 hours without the slightest technical trouble (small miracle).  Towards the end of that call, they felt at peace and we did at well moving forward with our current plan.  Not even two hours later we received the offer and contract selling our home.

Third, we made lists of all the things that would “have” to be resolved before we could make sense of moving our whole crew.  Some of these lists were simple and could be accomplished in time, but some of these things were well beyond our control.  It has been incredible to watch the Lord remove the “concerns” on the lists showing us every time what He had in store was better than we would have imagined.  It should be stated that we repeatedly see things in our human minds as curses to overcome.  In reality those self imposed "curses" are His blessings that we can not yet grasp.

What I want each of you to hear clearly, walk in faith, be obedient and be ready. You never know how the Lord will move or just how fast.

Finally, again know that we are forever thankful to have served on a staff like the one at Houston’s First.  We were loved well during our time serving with this Godly group of people.

Thank you,
Nick & Rachel
