We are on the move.


Hi Friends and Family...open arms have welcomed us into the family of His Cherished Ones International Ministry in Nakuru, Kenya.


Ten weeks ago we listed our home for sale NOT knowing where or what God had planned. We quickly received an offer on our home and that SAME day we prayed over a completely unexpected invitation that we accepted to partner with HCO. HCO was founded in 2008 by Trena Ivy Mroczko.


Our family is honored to announce that we will be partnering with His Cherished Ones (HCO) International in Nakuru, Kenya. The same place that Haley (our eldest) served last year and she will be joining us in this journey. This ministry closely mirrors the heart Nick and I have for serving children and their families. HCO is the umbrella ministry and the following ministries are currently thriving:


- Providing safe and loving homes to babies and toddlers at Haven of Hope Baby center while addressing the barriers to reunification or adoption.
-Training and discipling men to be strong leaders within their families and communities. I can’t wait to see Nick dive into the depths of these hearts.
-Advocacy and empowerment for women in a culture that doesn’t value women. We want them to know they are cherished by their Heavenly Father. Stronger families are best built with Christ and supported through long term microfinance/business foundations.

When the Lord graciously leads our lives down seemingly unknown paths of beauty, abundance, and the soil/nature/surroundings are so rich you are saturated with the Lord’s love. His faithfulness is in the surrounding beauty of every faithful step. Everywhere you look you see God’s tangible love providing along the journey. In the depths of our hearts He gave us the desire to live for His glory. The path we are on has many hills yet to come, but brings so much joy it eases the pain of letting go of earthly comforts. We have never been so filled and alive as we follow Him.
We have been asked to partner with HCO to support and continue with the foundation of their family ministry.  In time we will help build and foster healthy homes for children with parents trained up to meet their needs in a family environment.
Our bags are packed and we’re on the move.

Rach & I lead Bridge Families in Kansas City where we support families that are stepping in the gap for children that often don't have a voice.  We rely on our experience and training over 15 years of foster parenting and adoption.  We both believe that every child belongs in a family that not only provides the basic needs, but supports the child to become all their potential holds.  This often looks like phone calls in the wee hours with parents in crisis.  Sometime this opening our home to host those in between housing.  Assisting with getting re-established and re-launching into their own plan.  Whether that is an apartment or dorm going on with further education.  This has included provision of meals, clothes, and lodging in the form extended stay hotel rooms for a week or two until a plan can be established. Tanzania has hope

  In the last few years we have enjoyed getting to know some amazing people doing the work we felt so strongly called to be a part of in Kenya.  We, more Rachel than I, made contact with this group out of Tanzania, Pamoja Leo, leading the way getting children back into families, keeping them in families and supporting families to stay together.  Long story short, we have supported them along the way a couple times as we have been able.  Most recently they needed to fund the re-printing of some resources for spreading the need.  Due to the gifts we have received previously we felt called to assist with the printing costs. We received an amazing update from them just this week, here is an excerpt: "64 new foster families trained last month! Bringing us to 99 foster families total in Tanga region from 0 just 3 years ago!  6 adoptions pending all by local families.  2 rape convictions of 30 years for two girls that have been in our foster care program.  6 abandoned babies that have ne

Mike Eden Ministries / Little Eden Children's home (& Rescue Center)

  In late February 2022 Rachel & I were asked to consider positions as Executive Directors with Mike Eden Ministries. This is an established Children's home in Kenya started by Mike & Sylvia Eden.  The Eden's God breathed vision has led to 100's of Kenyan's being supported and having seen the Eden's love for Christ walked out.  In March we accepted the new created Executive Director roles which Rachel and I share together. Pray for us to see the Lord's vision for the children in the home and the staff that has and is serving the needs of those in the home.   Look forward to sharing more in the coming months.
